TEMPE, AZ - April 30, 2007 - Limelight Networks, a leading content delivery network for digital media, today announced it is expanding its leadership ranks of industry veterans with the appointment of two new key executives -- David Hatfield, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services, and Hong Xia, Vice President of Worldwide Technical Services. David Hatfield's responsibilities at Limelight include leading the company's global sales and marketing teams, as well as directing its product management, technical services and customer care organizations. He has been in the high technology industry more than 17 years leading sales, services, marketing and channel development teams in the infrastructure and internetworking space with emphasis on content delivery, high availability, security, storage and infrastructure management. "With a career marked by a consistent track record of building customer focused, high performance teams at leading companies such as Symantec, VERITAS Software and Akamai, David is the ideal choice to fortify Limelight's position as an industry leader in building solutions for the delivery of rich media across the Internet," said Jeff Lunsford, CEO and Chairman of Limelight Networks. Before joining Limelight, Hatfield was Vice President-General Manager of Symantec Professional Services for the Americas, where he held strategy, execution and profit and loss responsibility for business teams comprising nearly 500 associates operating across North, Central and South America. Hatfield joined Symantec, the fourth largest software company in the industry, through the acquisition of VERITAS Software, where he successfully led an extended enterprise sales team of nearly 400 associates. Prior to VERITAS, Hatfield led the North American direct sales organization at Akamai Technologies, Inc., which he joined in 1999. At Akamai, he played a key role in helping the company establish itself as a leading content delivery services provider. Hatfield's career also includes leadership of teams at Reardon Commerce (formerly Talaris Corporation), Gartner Group and Xerox Corporation. Also joining Limelight to lead its Global Technical Services Organization is Dr. Hong Xia. Reporting to Hatfield, Dr. Xia will be responsible for delivering world class technical services during pre- and post-sale activity for Limelight's next generation content delivery network. Dr. Xia will also take an active role in understanding and defining rapidly evolving market and customer requirements. Previously, Dr. Xia led the Americas Practices Organization for Symantec Professional Services, which focused on the strategy and execution of Symantec's key service lines including Security, Compliance, Data Center Management, Application Performance Management and Enterprise Messaging Management. Dr. Xia joined Symantec through the acquisition of VERITAS, where he led 110 field system engineers and drove alignment with product development across its three operating business units. Prior to Symantec, Dr. Xia worked for Akamai Technologies, Inc., where he led the North America Technical Consulting Organization. He was later promoted to lead the Product Management function as Vice President. Dr. Xia holds a Ph.D. in distributed computing and has had a distinguished career of 20 years including leadership positions across research, engineering, services and product management in the technology industry.
